IELTS
The International English Language Testing System
IELTS is an English language exam which is vital for international candidates to take if they consider to study or work in a country where English plays the main language of communication. Countries such as US, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada are the most popular countries where IELTS is accepted for university admissions.
British Council, Cambridge English Language Assessment and IDP Education Australia jointly owned and conducts IETLS exams.
The candidates are examined in four basic English language skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Listening
In the listening IELTS exam, candidates will be given to listen four recorded monologues and conversations. There will be a total of four section along with 40 questions in total with the time duration of 30 minutes. Students will need to fill up 40 gaps which will be given in a different format. Such as; Multiple choice questions, sentence completion, summary completion and diagram labelling.
Speaking
In the speaking IELTS exam, it will consist of three sections.
Section 1: Candidate will be asked general questions by the examiner. For instance, about yourself, family, work, studies, interests etc.
Section 2: Examiner will give a card with a topic where candidate needs to talk. Candidate will be given one minute to prepare their answers.
Section 3: Candidate will be asked questions regarding the topic given in section 2.
Reading
In the reading IELTS exam, it will consist of three to four reading passages. Varieties of 40 questions will be asked to students to test their reading skills. Time allocated will be of 60 minutes. Students will need to fill up 40 gaps which will be given in a different format. Such as; Multiple choice questions, sentence completion, summary completion, matching headings and matching features.
Writing
In the writing IELTS exam, it will consist of two tasks.
Task 1: Students will be asked to describe, explain or to summarize the information presented in graph, table or charts in their own words. Candidates will be given 20 minutes to complete task 1 with 150 words limit.
Task 2: Candidate will be asked to write an essay on a given topic. They will be given 40 minutes to complete task 2 with 250 words limit.

- IELTS Foundation Course
- IELTS Preparation Course.
Students are required to seat for placement test before enrolling to IELTS program. Based on their results, they will be placed either in Foundation or in Preparation course. It takes three months to complete each level. Students will be given weekly assessment to ensure their improvement.
Furthermore, students are required to take Mid-Term test and Final examination to ensure they have completed the level successfully.
